A friend of mine just finished up a malpractice lawsuit. Her family lost the suit as well as their father. My friend’s father had gone to the doctor, received his physical, stress test, etc.. and was given a clean bill of health. So are the doctors telling the truth? Do doctor visits really help us or provide cover?

My friend’s dad is just one example. A week after the clean bill, he dropped dead of a massive heart attack. Another friend of my mom’s, lost her husband two days after his clean bill check up. Why is this happening more frequently? I do not pretend to have the answers nor the scientific proof to back anything up. What I have to offer is my personal opinion and the words of one doctor.

When the doctor took the stand at my friend’s malpractice trial, he spoke words that punctured my own heart like a dagger. When asked why he did not tell his patient about other alternatives to aide his heart, the doctor stated, and I quote, ” because he was going to die anyways.” I’m sorry, what did you say doc?? Is that part of the Hippocratic oath for you to make that determination? I think this doctor had a severe God complex. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t it his DUTY to report his findings to his patient? I would think so.

What is left for the family now? The knowledge that the doctor did not reveal the issues at hand AND that their choices for care were taken away from them. It is a patient’s decision to make on treatment. This doctor basically let this man die and gave him no fair warning. At least he could have put plans in order. Who gives a doctor the right? No one. We are taught to trust doctors and believe them when they tell us we are ok. How can I do that now?

This doctor not only made the decision himself, he lost the man’s paperwork when they changed offices. On the day of my friend’s dad passing, the doctor called the house to see how he was doing??! The response from his widow was swift…he’s dead you S.O.B. Dead.

What are your thoughts about doctors today? Are they overworked? Carelessly reading reports? Not taking patients seriously? And who should decide treatment?

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) launched the Undiagnosed Disease Program (UDP) in May of 2008 to evaluate patients with disorders that have evaded a diagnosis. Often such patients, seek help from multiple physicians and other health care providers over many years before a diagnosis is made. The UDP has been organized by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), the Office of Rare Diseases Research (ORDR), and the NIH Clinical Center. The program’s main goals are to provide answers to patients with mysterious conditions that have long eluded a diagnosis and to advance medical knowledge about rare and common diseases.
By all accounts, the program has been successful. More personnel have been hired and funding has been increased. Over the year and a half since its inception, there have been more than 3000 inquiries, more than 1200 medical records submitted, 300 patients accepted, and about 220 of these patients seen so far at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. It is interesting that over half of the applications fall into the realm of neurology. As an indication of the seriousness of the illnesses for which patients are applying, thirteen who have applied have died, most before they could be seen at the Clinical Center. There have been five to ten true diagnoses made. In one of these, a family with arterial calcifications of the lower extremities, a causative mutation was found in a gene not known to be involved in any other disease. The UDP provides both diagnostic support and new insights into rare diseases.

An honest review of the yeast infection treatment, Vagistat-1. Ladies, save your money. Save your labia!

Ladies with a yeast infection, DO NOT use vagistat-1. Save your labia for God sake. I thought I was losing my mind with this product. It said, use at bedtime. Ok, I did. When I woke up swollen in my special place, I thought it normal.

NO! This product only made things worse. I think they are working in conjunction with another 3 day product so that we have to buy that as well. I should have known a 1 day product was too good to be true. But ladies, don’t you hate the whole “vaginal insertion” thingy?! I wanted to do it once and be done. Bad move.

I should have read the reviews first! Many Many many women all experiencing the same issues with this product. All have said to never use it. WTF? Why is it still being distributed? Save yourself the hassle and get a good 3 day product. You will end up in a far better situation then I did.

So my friend told me to try this. I was like, are you saying Im fat??! She said no, but you said you wanted to lose 25 lbs.

Well, I did say that dang it. So I took her word for it and tried Everloss. http://vur.me/djfunkyslick/WeightLoss WOW. So much for embarrassing weigh ins and counting points! I don’t know what these people did, but in the 30 days I have lost about 23 lbs. I have 2 to go and I hope to keep it off! Oh, and I wasn’t starving either.

Also, I am lazy. really I am. i dont like exercise, but I decided to walk around my neighborhood while I tried this. Nothing fancy, just a walk around the block. Made me feel better and I think helped me with a few lbs. I don’t know. You try it and let me know how it works for you! Maybe I will do a contest for most weight lost!!

Eczema is one of the most infuriating skin diseases an individual could ever have. The soreness of its symptoms which include, redness, swelling, inflaming, itching and sometimes wounding make a person’s living really difficult. Eczema can range from the occasional flare up to the more severe cases.

Sometimes, this is sensitive to treat. It is even harder to deal with in the case of babies because they have a low control to itching. Since eczema is really scratchy, prickly and is really stubborn, babies and children become so irritable and upset. But there are cases wherein other kids are able to outgrow eczema, but some carry on the sting for the rest of their lives. Adults with eczema can have their jobs, sleep and many other factors of their life interfered with.

Doctors say there is no cure for eczema. But this can be treated and manage by means of these:
•	For children, keep them cool with cotton clothes. Keep their nails short, as well.
•	Know what food could flare up eczema to avoid symptoms trigger.
•	Some tried using Tamanu and Flax oil to help in lock moisture to free skin from drying up.
•	Maintain clean skin by washing it with gentle soaps. Avoid detergents and alcohol as this could start the flare up. After washing, dab skin with a towel and pat it dry. Never rub the skin roughly.

Patience is indeed a virtue. No one is to be blamed if a person has acquired this kind of disease. Deal it with properly and soon find relief

Avandia has been on the market for Diabetes patients for a little over 10 years now. It has racked up billions in sales in that time. But now comes the FDA asking, does Avandia cause heart attacks?

After all, that’s why we have the Food and Drug Administration right? To keep us safe from drugs rare side effects. However, when the FDA clears a drug and 10 years later starts to question it’s safety, we have issues. Even the FDA’s own scientists are divided about the issue.

Today, July 14th, 2010, the FDA began a 2 day meeting to discuss the future of the drug. 3 years ago, piles of studies showed that Avandia clearly posed a higher risk of heart attacks. However, the decision was made to keep the drug on the market. Anything for a buck, eh? Well, at what cost? Do we kill people from the drug or let the Diabetes kill them? They are given false hope with these prescriptions, not realizing the potential health risks.

When the FDA fights amongst itself, you can best believe a drug IS NOT safe for our consumption. They are going to make a decision about Avandia in the coming months. What do you think the prognosis will be?

This is going to be a short post. I can’t help it, but I run on the treadmill barefoot. NOT at a gym, but my home treadmill. It works better for me. I seem to last longer and push harder. Until now. I have pain in my heel, but this started when I was wearing shoes. So, I am not going to blame it on being barefoot. I know it’s not a heel spur or wart, so I believe it is Plantar Faciitis. Great.

Basically what I have researched is the Plantar muscle connects to the Arch tendons and allows for operation of heel and arch. Extreme pressure and tearing cause this pain I have now called faciitis. I need to stay off for awhile and switch to a low impact work out like cycling or swimming. Hopefully, it heals(lol) on it’s own as the drastic result would be surgery.

Anyways, my point in all this. Does anyone else exercise barefoot???
